- An angle broom or dust mop.
- A wet mop or floor scrubber with a non-abrasive scrubbing pad.
- A mop bucket.
- A pH-neutral floor cleaner.
The size of your epoxy floor will determine which of these tools you’ll need to use. If your floor is smaller, such as a residential floor in a kitchen or similar room, you should use an angle broom and wet mop. However, if your floor is larger, such as a commercial floor in a store or an industrial floor in a factory, you should use dust mops and floor scrubbers to make maintenance faster and more efficient. If your space needs a floor scrubber, ensure that you’re using a non-abrasive scrubbing pad to avoid tarnishing the floor’s finish.
Daily
Your epoxy floor coating should be swept, or dust mopped daily to remove any dirt, grit, or other debris from the floor’s surface to prevent scratches and prevent particles from becoming embedded in the floor.

You should wet mop or power scrub your epoxy floor at least once a week with a pH-neutral floor cleaner to remove any built-up grime or residue from the floor. Epoxy floors are resistant to staining, but prolonged exposure to soiling will lead to a stain eventually.
As Needed
As accidents, spills, and tracked-in messes occur, you’ll need to mop up as needed. Whenever a mess like this happens, it’s essential to clean it up with a mop and pH-neutral floor cleaner to reduce the chances of a stain forming and prevent any slips or falls.

- Citrus-based Cleaners & Soapy Detergents: Cleaning your epoxy floors with citrus-based cleaners or soapy detergents will create a film over your floor. This film will diminish the floor’s finish and can be a nuisance to clean off. However, if you make the mistake of using one of these cleaners and leaving a film, a proper mopping with the pH-neutral floor cleaner should take it right off!
- Abrasive Scrubbing Pads: Using an abrasive scrubbing pad for a power scrubber or even a hand-held scrub brush once may not cause many problems. However, prolonged use of an abrasive pad will leave minor scratches over the epoxy flooring that will build up over time and leave your floor looking lackluster.
